Educational Goal: Inform
participants about a variety of new medications
Educational Objectives: After
attending the presentation, the participants should be
able to:
- Discuss the basic pharmacology of
the new drugs presented, including new antidiabetic,
cardiovascular, and sedative/hypnotic drugs, and how
the pharmacologic actions relate to both therapeutic
and adverse effects.
- Discuss clinically significant
adverse effects and drug interactions, and the
appropriate dosing and monitoring of the new drugs
presented.
- Discuss the therapeutic role of
the new drugs presented as compared to agents
already marketed.
