President's Message

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to serve AASHP. My term as President of AASHP comes to an end as Rusty Pendley takes over as your President for 2007. It truly is a rewarding experience to serve the AASHP membership. “Thank you” goes out to everyone on the AASHP Board and the members of AASHP for a great year. We accomplished a lot in 2006: revision of the bylaws, CEUs at monthly meetings, improving the AASHP website, staffing the Volunteer Health Clinic in January and August, and having 2 members serve as Texas Delegates to ASHP (Jim Wilson and Julie Nelson), and much more.

Speaking of 2007, Holli Temple, our Director at Large, is filling in the January 2007 calendar for the Volunteer Clinic. Please contact Holli at with the dates you would like to staff the VHC on a Tuesday or Thursday evening in January.

Nominations for a President-Elect will be accepted in the early part of 2007. I encourage you to consider submitting a colleague’s name (or yourself) for consideration. It’s a great way to give back to the profession of pharmacy.

We’re also looking for a volunteer to lead the Spring Seminar Committee. We have quite a few volunteers who have offered to help with a Spring Seminar in Austin, but we need someone to take the lead getting it all organized.
