The Austin Area Society of Health-System
Pharmacists is an organization comprised of pharmacists and pharmacy
technicians who practice in Central Texas. AASHP is an
affiliate of the
Texas Society of
Health-System Pharmacists and the
American Society of
Health-System Pharmacists.
September AASHP Meeting 
We hope you all had a great summer, and we are pleased to announce the
first AASHP meeting of the fall. It will be held Tuesday,
September 9 at Cool River Cafe; the speaker is Dr. Edith Nutescu, PharmD
from the University of Illinois at Chicago and the topic is "National
Quality Initiatives in Anticoagulation Therapy".

Texas Neuro Rehab Hospital has an opening for
30-32hrs/week for a Pharmacy Technician, Monday thru Friday, 12 noon til
8pm. Must have current certification in Texas and be IV Certified.
Duties will include Cart Fill, Nurse Station Audits, Floor Stock Par
Levels, and assistance to Pharmacists as needed. For more information

AASHP Constitution
The Austin Area
Society of Health-System Pharmacists Constitution has been amended with
changes to the by-laws. The changes were approved by the membership at
the October, 2007 meeting and the amended Constitution has been posted on our
website (click to download).
Thanks to the officers of AASHP and especially Deanna
Dossey, AASHP Past President, for spearheading the process of amending
the AASHP Constitution so that we may better serve the members of our
organization.

AASHP Member Activity Spotlight
Donna Fowler, Past-President of AASHP, responded to the call for help
after the devastating hurricanes that hit the Gulf Coast. We missed her
at the meeting, but were proud to know she was responding to the
disaster. Many of us are curious about what exactly it is she does when
she goes to Florida, Louisiana, or wherever, to help out in emergencies,
so we asked her to write about her experience for our website.
