The Austin Area Society of Health-System
Pharmacists is an organization comprised of pharmacists and pharmacy
technicians who practice in Central Texas.
AASHP is an affiliate of the Texas Society of
Health-System Pharmacists and the American Society of
Health-System Pharmacists.

Position: Director,
Pharmacy Specialist

Based

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy. Current license as a
pharmacist. Minimum seven (7) years of health care experience with five
(5) years minimum in an acute care setting. Demonstrated leadership
experience with committees and/or project facilitation and
implementation is required. Good interpersonal and communication skills
are required. An advanced degree or equivalent is preferred. Previous
experience with direct contracting, purchasing, or business experience
would be preferred. Working knowledge of all functions within the acute
care and non-acute care setting with emphasis on pharmaceutical products
required. Must be able to work independently, organize, solve problems,
and make independent judgments. Superior customer service,
organizational and communication skills are necessary. Computer skills
must include Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, Internet, and
electronic mail systems. Presentation and meeting facilitation skills
required. Ability to coordinate and manage multiple membership
relationships required. Moderate to extensive day and overnight travel
required. Driver's license required.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the promotion and implementation of the Group Purchasing
(Pharmacy) Program for Amerinet Clinical Specialist Team. Provide
coordinated marketing strategies to create customer awareness and cost
saving opportunities. Provides direct sales support for the Pharmacy
program. Identify, develop and implement procedures to improve
effectiveness and contract utilization. Develop strategies to generate
revenue and control organizational costs. Contributes to the strategic
initiative of Amerinet. Position can be home office based.

AASHP Constitution
The Austin Area
Society of Health-System Pharmacists Constitution has been amended with
changes to the by-laws. The changes were approved by the membership at
the October, 2007 meeting and the amended Constitution has been posted on our
website (click to download).
Thanks to the officers of AASHP and especially Deanna
Dossey, AASHP Past President, for spearheading the process of amending
the AASHP Constitution so that we may better serve the members of our
organization.
