Educational Goal: Inform participants about current treatments options for arthritis.  

Educational Objectives:

  1. Understand the impact and prevalence of arthritis and the economic costs in our society.
  2. Identify and discuss the treatment options for management and treatment of arthritis.
  3. Review and discuss the possible side effects and hazards both short and long term for medications used to treat arthritis.
  4. Understand the risk and benefits of using cox-2 inhibitors for treatment of arthritis.

RSVP   The meal and CE program is free for all members of AASHP.  Non-members may join at the door for $25 for pharmacists or $15 for pharmacy students and pharmacy technicians. Attendees who are not also members of TSHP must pay a $10 processing fee to receive a statement of attendance from TSHP.

Target audience: pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
The Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This program (t.b.d) provides 1.0 contact hour (0.10 CEUs) of continuing pharmaceutical education. To receive a Statement of Participation, a program evaluation form must be completed and turned in at the end of the program. A $10 processing fee must be paid by non-TSHP members to receive a Statement of Attendance from TSHP.
