Educational Goals:

Inform participants about fibromyalgia treatments

Pharmacist Educational Objectives:

  1. Understand the prevalence of fibromyalgia and the economic costs in our society.
  2. Identify and discuss the treatment options for management and treatment of fibromyalgia.
  3. Review and discuss the possible side effects and hazards both short and long term for medications used to treat fibromyalgia.
  4. Understand the risk and benefits of medications used for treatment of fibromyalgia.

Pharmacy Tech Educational Objectives:

  1. Understand the impact of fibromyalgia in society;
  2. Understand the different types of treatments used for fibromyalgia; and
  3. Appreciate the major problems related to drug therapy for fibromyalgia.

The Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This program (156-999-07-131-L01-P & 156-999-07-131-L01-T ) provides 1.0 contact hour (0.10 CEUs) of continuing pharmaceutical education. To receive a Statement of Participation, a program evaluation form must be completed and turned in at the end of the program.
