Activity Purpose

This educational activity will update participants on recent advances and strategies regarding the use of analgesia and sedation in acute care settings

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to

  1. Evaluate methods for the systematic assessment of patient sedation and analgesia in acute care settings to optimize use of appropriate sedatives and analgesics
  2. Analyze current research data to reevaluate use of sedatives and analgesics in specific patient populations
  3. Analyze pharmacoeconomic data in the selection of therapeutic agents in acute care settings to reduce healthcare costs

Method of Participation

This activity will consist of a lecture with collateral slides, syllabus and an interactive question and answer session. To receive credit all participants are required to complete the enrollment/evaluation forms and submit on-site. A certificate of credit will be sent to participants within 6 weeks of receipt of the forms. A copy of the curriculum deck will be available online at www.accessCME.org. There is no fee to participate in the program or for the generation of the certificate.

The Academy for Continued Healthcare Learning (ACHL) is accred- ited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
