Activity Purpose

This educational activity will update participants on recent advances and strategies regarding the use of analgesia and sedation in acute care settings

Learning Objectives

OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this program, the attendee will be able to:

  1. Discuss the rationale for the use of current and emerging therapies in thrombocytopenia
  2. Evaluate the current and emerging data for earlier lines of therapy, and various administration methods with respect to overall patient outcomes, safety, and efficacies
  3. Review key clinical trials that have given rise to thrombopoietic growth factors as emerging therapeutic agents as they relate to previous, current and future treatment of thrombocytopenia
  4. Consider the clinical impact of emerging therapies on survival and quality of life
