OBJECTIVES: At the
conclusion of this program, the attendee will be able to:

Discuss the prevalence of acute hypertension.

Describe treatment goals and common adverse events
associated with over- and undertreatment of acute
hypertension in the perioperative and emergency
department settings.

Review current and future I.V. antihypertensive
therapies.
- Implement appropriate strategies
regarding the use of I.V. antihypertensive therapies to
increase patient safety and outcomes.
