Janci Addison - President Elect (2025-2026)

Dr. Janci Addison is an Internal Medicine Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Ascension Seton in Austin, Texas. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Following her graduation, Dr. Addison completed a Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency at Ascension Seton, where she honed her clinical skills and gained invaluable experience in various patient care settings. Dr. Addison’s commitment to advancing her expertise in the field led her to pursue a Postgraduate Year Two (PGY2) Internal Medicine Residency at Ascension Seton. She is now a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS), a testament to her dedication to excellence in pharmacy practice.
Passionate about medication safety, Dr. Addison is deeply committed to ensuring optimal medication use in diverse patient populations. Her interests also include precepting pharmacy learners, where she enjoys sharing her knowledge and mentoring the next generation of pharmacy professionals. Advocacy is another key passion, and she is dedicated to driving improvements in pharmacy practice and patient care through policy engagement and professional development.
Dr. Addison is particularly interested in pursuing a leadership role within the Austin Area Society of Health-System Pharmacists (AASHP). Through her involvement with AASHP, she has had the opportunity to connect with like-minded pharmacy professionals, enhance her leadership skills, and engage in advocacy efforts to advance the practice of pharmacy at the state level. As President of AASHP, Dr. Addison hopes to further develop the Austin Area pharmacy network, foster collaboration among pharmacy professionals and students, and continue advocating for meaningful changes in the healthcare landscape.
